Hiking Up and Around Nephin Beg

Here is a video I made of my hike up and around Nephin Beg mountain and the twin Scardaun Loughs last Saturday.

I hope the video gives you an idea of what this landscape is like.

Section 2 is from on the top of the 627 m mountain, with the camera facing directly west. The result is very strong wind, so you might like to tone down the volume just for that section.

  2. Thanks for posting this…you had a grand day for it, Scenery is as always wild and wonderful on the mountain. Have a good Christmas, don’t go ski-ing on Nephin!

  3. Cheers Brian,
I had a really wonderful day alright. I just love the Nephin Begs as a whole and the Bangor Trail hiking way around them. Have a great 2010 !

  4. Thanks Barry for a view of 2 of “my mts.” which I look at everyday from the other side of Lough Feeagh. Do a lot of walking around here but haven’t got up there YET as I have mobility problems and bad balance. Did manage El Camino de Santiago for two months in 2007.!

    Eleanor (no spring chicken either!)

  5. I think you have put the want on me to go for a long walk. I’ve been thinking about tackeling them mountains for a while. Walked up Nephin quite a few times during my first year here but havent done much over the last year. Need to get new boots too.
